How it works!
Once we have received your agreement on the scope of the project, your deposit and you have sent everything required , we create a project timeline.
This depends on whether you have already had your book edited or require us to do it for you at an additional cost. It also depends on what current projects with have in the cue.
We will discuss font, style, formatting and supply sample chapters to choose from. Once this selection has been made a style guide will be created specifically for your book. This is an important documents that captures the formatting style that can be used in a series for example.
Then, we prepare your manuscript to industry standards, format it and supply you with a PDF version for your approval before uploading the files to Ingram Spark.
We allow 2 rounds of revision at the approval stage. These are usually minor changes and are usually about the look of the text on the page. A call or Zoom meeting is used for this process.
Once formatting has been completed, we also engage an illustrator to create the book cover. There could be a slight pause in the project production as you liaise with the illustrator. The reason we wait is that we need to know the exact number of pages and the size of the book to create the cover. This is at an extra cost per format – print & e-book.
Once approved we enter the next proofing stage by supplying a print version of your book prior to publishing and ordering more copies. You get to choose the quantity. We recommend 50-100 for the first print run.
